Quote from alexadry on April 1, 2022, 3:56 pmIf it's an allergy, there are various causes. It can be environmental (exposure to pollens, grasses, seeds), food related (several dogs are allergic to beef, chicken), chemical (exposure to floor cleaners, weed killers, shampoos, flea products) etc. Some dogs may be allergic to insect bites. To really go to the root of the problem, you can have your dog tested to find out what she is allergic to, but this can be costly and time consuming. Often vets will treat allergies by prescribing allergy medicine (anthihistamines like benadryl or hydroxizine) or will give an allergy shot. There are also chances dogs may rub their nose if they have tooth or gum problems , or a foreign particle in the nasal canal. If this is an ongoing problem, a vet visit can help pinpoint the problem.
